Locks of Love

Asia has been begging me and begging me to cut her hair. Whenever I brush it or try to make it cute, she FREAKS out, either because I'm hurting her or because she wanted to do it herself. Needless to say, we were both sick of it. I told her about Locks of Love and she got so excited to be able to help someone who is sick and needs her hair more than she does. So, we went to our friend Stacey and told her what we wanted to do.
Here she is, waiting to get her hair cut:

Here she is in the barber chair and getting it chopped:

Here's the before and after:

We think it turned out super cute! I do have to say though, I miss just being able to put it in a ponytail when we're in a hurry. It is a little more high maintenance that way, but it is waaaaay easier to brush and wash. She said she never wants to grow her hair long again. Then she thought about it and said, "Maybe I will so I can give it away again." What a sweetie! Here's our new little girl with short hair:

Here is the form that you're supposed to mail with the hair:

It left room at the bottom for some comments. Asia wrote, "To: my friend, I love you. I hope you will like my hair. Please get better soon. Love: Asia." I think we may have to make this a tradition and maybe one year I will be brave enough to do it with her...!

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

It has already been such a busy summer with t-ball and baseball two to three times a week. The kids like to have something in the week to plan and to look forward too. Ethan played pitching machine this year. I didn't think he would like it since he hated t-ball. Pitching machine has a little more action and excitement.

Here he is playing outfield, or just playing with his mit!

He still hates to play outfield, but loves to get up to bat. His favorite position was actually catcher. Most of the boys didn't like to be catcher because the gear was so heavy and hot and sweaty. Ethan didn't mind that at all! He thought of it as his armor. He even caught the ball once or twice without dropping it!

It was hard, at first, to hit the ball from the pitching machine. I mean, it goes about 40 miles per hour! But after the first few games he got the hang of it and could hit it almost every time. I was proud of him for sticking with it and not giving up. It was all worth it in the end when he got his medal, a chocolate cupake and a Gatorade all to himself!

This was Asia's first year of t-ball. She had a great time. Her favorite part was hitting the ball off of the tee and running super fast around the bases. Most of the kids on her team were a year older than her, but she had the longest legs out of the whole bunch and probably could run the fastest. They always had to raise the tee up for her to hit it! I think she liked t-ball better than Ethan did, at least she didn't sit down in the outfield and pick grass the whole time! They haven't gotten their medals yet so I'll have to post those pics later.
Here she is on third base:

Now onto the next summer activity!

May Happenings

Okay. I finally have a bit of time to write about the rest of May. It was quite a busy month in the Taylor household with recitals, graduationas, anniversaries and such. I'll start with Asia's dance recital. She LOVES to dress up and dance all of the time. When she gets all dressed up for church on Sundays she always wants to put on pretty music and dance around the living room. She was so excited to put on her pretty dance outfit and wear makeup for her dance recital. I forgot my camera, but we took these after we got home.

She also loves to have her picture taken if you couldn't tell! She kept doing different poses and then she wanted to take pics of Mia and I.

She was in a combo dance class that taught her jazz, tap, and ballet, and then she got to take a tumbling class too. She wore the green outfit for her tumbling number and the pink outfit for her other 2 numbers. She did a great job on all 3 numbers and we're so proud of her!

This month Mia turned 6-months old too. She knows how to roll over now and can sit up on her own. She is kind of tipsy still, but her favorite thing to do is sit and play with her toys. She also is very vocal and like to blow raspberries and growl like a bear. Very cute!

Mia also got to take her first bike ride with her daddy. She loved it so much, she cried when we took her out of her bike seat!

Here's Jacob being funny with some goggles he found. He's pretty hilarious sometimes!
