Take Me Out to the Ball Game

It has already been such a busy summer with t-ball and baseball two to three times a week. The kids like to have something in the week to plan and to look forward too. Ethan played pitching machine this year. I didn't think he would like it since he hated t-ball. Pitching machine has a little more action and excitement.

Here he is playing outfield, or just playing with his mit!

He still hates to play outfield, but loves to get up to bat. His favorite position was actually catcher. Most of the boys didn't like to be catcher because the gear was so heavy and hot and sweaty. Ethan didn't mind that at all! He thought of it as his armor. He even caught the ball once or twice without dropping it!

It was hard, at first, to hit the ball from the pitching machine. I mean, it goes about 40 miles per hour! But after the first few games he got the hang of it and could hit it almost every time. I was proud of him for sticking with it and not giving up. It was all worth it in the end when he got his medal, a chocolate cupake and a Gatorade all to himself!

This was Asia's first year of t-ball. She had a great time. Her favorite part was hitting the ball off of the tee and running super fast around the bases. Most of the kids on her team were a year older than her, but she had the longest legs out of the whole bunch and probably could run the fastest. They always had to raise the tee up for her to hit it! I think she liked t-ball better than Ethan did, at least she didn't sit down in the outfield and pick grass the whole time! They haven't gotten their medals yet so I'll have to post those pics later.
Here she is on third base:

Now onto the next summer activity!

Cole loves playing catcher the best too--and HATES the outfield! hahaha. Too boring. I think baseball is a tough sport for little kids--not quite enough action to hold their attention sometimes!
