Disneyland part 2

Now, on to day 2. But first, some people have asked me a few questions about our trip so I will try and answer them. We only ate one or two meals a day at restaurants. We tried to not eat at Disneyland, but when the tummy calls, I have to answer! Our hotel had a fridge and a microwave so we bought milk and juice and had cereal every morning for breakfast. We bought a bunch of snacks to take into the park with us which held us over until about 2 or 3. Then we usually went to a burger place or sandwich joint in the park. It actually didn't cost us too much. A sandwich or burger meal was only 7 to 8 dollars. If you went to one of the restaurants to eat, then it was a pretty little penny. We had to do this just once because I always wanted to eat at the Blue Bayou where you can watch the boats go by from the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. It was very cool but also very expensive. Mike and I shared a Monte Cristo sandwich, which I have never had and was very good, and it was still waaay expensive.

Another question I was asked was how long our waits in line were. They actually weren't too bad. We took advantage of the Fast Passes and they worked out awesomely. We didn't know that you could use your fast passes all day and that you didn't have to use them within the time period that it says. Also, on the bottom of the pass it says when you can get your next fast pass and you don't even have to use the other one up. I thought this was quite the revelation! So, when Asia wanted to go on a bunch of the kiddie type rides that didn't require a fast pass, we would wait in line while Mike ran to go get fast passes and then jump back in line with us. We could even use these fast passes the next day, as long as we waited until the time it said on them. I hope this makes sense. It saved us a bunch of waiting time.

Anyway, on to the second day of our fabulous trip. We decided to stay at Disneyland again since we didn't get to do everything yet. We went on Indiana Jones. Asia didn't like this one at first, but after the first time she really liked it. Ethan loved it, of course.

Then we went on Splash Mountain. Asia HATED this one. I think it was because of the last large drop at the end. She doesn't like to get wet with her clothes and shoes on and she also hates large drops. We kept telling her that the rides were all fun and not scary. She had a hard time trusting us after this one! She caught on to us and didn't want to try any rollercoasters after this...

except maybe one more! We had to try the Matterhorn. She didn't like that one either! We decided to try some other rides just for Asia, like going through Snow White's castle: and meeting Mary Poppins:Then the kids wanted to try and become little Paduwans. I think that's how you spell it. Anyway, Asia was chosen to fight the dark forces but not Ethan. I guess the force was not great with him! He was pretty sad about that, but forgot all about it when the show started. Asia first had to learn how to activate her light saber and learn the moves:

Then she had to wait her turn to fight Darth Vader:

Then it was her turn. You can't see her very good, but she did an awesome job. I thought she would run off the stage because she's pretty shy, but she stayed and defeated Darth Vader! She thought that was pretty cool!

Then it was off to Autopia to get our drivers' licenses and drive some cars. I drove with Ethan and Mike drove with Asia. We only had 2 close calls with cars in front of us! I had to keep reminding Ethan that it wasn't bumper cars!

We were all pretty hot and tired by then so we decided to take a swim break at our hotel for a couple of hours:

Then it was back to Disneyland to ride more rides. Here's Mike and Ethan on the Dumbo ride that we waited 45 minutes for:

Asia and I on Dumbo:

This is the Submarine Finding Nemo ride that we waited almost an hour for. Not really worth the wait, I didn't think! I even got us dinner and we ate it all gone while we waited. Crazy how you wait in line for an hour to go on a lame 2 minute ride. I guess that's what amusement parks are all about!

That was pretty much the end of day 2. We stayed in the park and watched the fireworks and rode a few more rides until the park closed. Still more to come!

Well at least Asia didn't pee on the stage! That's a relief!

I don't even want to know what strange places you were stuffing food into to sneak it into the park! :)

How cool she was in the Star Wars show! We got there too late to sit and watched from farther back, but we did get to see the storm troopers run by us, and Darth Maul came up to sneer at the kids!
